Adam H. Bloom, MD, FAAO
Ophthalmologist
Dr. Bloom is a Board Certified Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In 1994, he graduated from Harvard University summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Physics. He then earned his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was awarded at graduation for being the top student in ophthalmology. After completing an internal medicine internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, Dr. Bloom pursued his ophthalmology residency at New York University and the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital. He was then selected for a prestigious cornea and external disease fellowship, during which he gained intensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of corneal disorders. He currently practices general ophthalmology, with a special focus on corneal problems including dry eye and allergy.
Dr. Bloom has authored numerous scientific publications, which have appeared in leading ophthalmology journals. He is affiliated with North Shore University Hospital at Syosset, Island Eye Surgicenter and Nassau University Medical Center, where he remains actively involved in teaching ophthalmologists in training.
Dr. Bloom is a native of Long Island and is married to a pediatrician. His memberships include the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
